How does Disney Help Manatees?
Disney has "animal programs." Disney will help a manatee in need, then release it back into the ocean. One of the manatees that helped was Bock. Bock was "rescued from the St. John's River in 2001." He came to Epcot in 2003, but he only weighed "about 500 pounds." The "marine mammal experts" in Epcot fed him with a "bottle" and they also fed him "romaine lettuce, fruits, and other vegetables." Bock "weighs more than 1,000 pounds." Bock is about "eight years old." Before they released Bock they put a "satellite tracking belt" on him. This belt helps them to know where he goes, so they can study these wonderful animals.
